AAU:
AAU is a competitive spring basketball season where teams play in weekend tournaments against a wide variety of opponents. The difference from the regular Basketball League & Tournament season and AAU season is that during the regular Basketball League & Tournament season, teams typically play against local teams. During AAU season, teams compete against a wider variety of teams from out of town. This is advantageous and exposes kids to more opponents, playing at different skill levels. AAU allows the kids more practice time on the court, and also allows them to compete against top competition on a consistent basis throughout the AAU season. Our AAU teams are known as the Hoop Strong Warriors.

Fall/Winter & Summer Leagues:
Hoop Strong competes in leagues and tournaments throughout NYC and Westchester County, as well as surrounding cities in the Tri-State area. We play in a variety of basketball leagues in the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Weekend tournaments are mainly held during the Spring (AAU Season) and the Holidays.
Summer League season is from July - mid-August. During summer leagues/tournaments, games are held at parks and the kids compete on outside courts throughout NYC and Westchester Co. Some summer tournaments are also held at indoor facilities. Each outdoor tournament usually has a rain-site where the teams go play their game(s) indoors in the event of inclement weather.

Private Training & Conditioning:
Private training will give kids the opportunity to gain confidence through repetition of ball handling and shooting drills. Boost your child's confidence and show them that they can play the game and be successful.
For the kids who are more experienced, private training will take their game to the next level. Practicing and training at an optimum pace will prepare your child to play at game-speed consistently. Being able to set, and keep up with, an advanced pace will help them stand out from the kids who are not playing at a higher level of skill.
Explosive speed and agility along with endurance are needed to drive past a defender and stay with your man. Each possession change requires a transition into a 94-foot run from one end of the court to another. These factors, plus very little downtime on the court, make top conditioning a necessity. During Mike's collegiate and professional basketball career he has learned the best drills and exercises that aim to maximize peak endurance and conditioning.

Camps:
Day-long basketball camps will be run during the Holiday season and throughout school breaks from 10am - 3pm. The focus of camps is to provide kids with a fun and enthusiastic environment. This will make the kids and parents feel more comfortable and confident about playing basketball.
We will work on fundamentals through practicing drills, stations, and playing in scrimmages. Scrimmage and competition grouping is based on age and skill level, ensuring that your child will be on an appropriate team and exposed to maximum court time.
