The Importance of Parent Involvement
Parent involvement is crucial for the success of the child and the team on and off the court. Having a parent or guardian who is involved in, and supportive of, team operations ensures that kids are playing with the proper support system. Hoop Strong wants to teach kids that being on a team isn't just about practicing and playing, it's about looking out for your neighbors and doing the next right thing that will benefit those around you, as well as those far away. Below are roles and responsibilities that parents, or as we like to call them, Team Boosters, can volunteer for:
Managers
Parents volunteering for a Team Manager position may help supply water, snacks, towels, and first aid kits for players.
Point of Contact
Parents will contact the Point of Contact person in regards to logistics with travel information. Point of Contact will be responsible for relaying information and answering questions regarding hotel info, car pooling, meal options, and driving directions.
Fund Raisers
Having a strong team of Fundraising Volunteers ensures that Hoop Strong Warriors will be able to have resources for end-of-season events as well as holiday celebrations etc.

Community Service Leaders
Community Service Leaders might be responsible for identifying, planning and executing community service projects such as toy drives, food drives, clothing drives, visits to children's hospitals, disaster relief fundraisers, and community beautification opportunities.
A strong team of Community Service Leaders ensures that Hoop Strong Warriors will be able to make a difference through volunteer opportunities in and around our community, as well as abroad. It's important to give back what we are so lucky to have.

Social Media Liaisons
Social Media Liaison will be in charge of updating social media accounts such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. They may be responsible for audience interactions, scheduling updates and designing posts. Will work with Web Masters when necessary.
Web Masters
Web Masters will be in charge of uploading pictures to the Hoop Strong website, maintaining the websites calendar and updating the websites "Announcements" bulletin. Will work with Social Media Liaisons when necessary.
Team Treasurers
Team Treasurers will be in charge of checking people in for tryouts, collecting fees and keeping record of collected fees. During the season the Team Treasurer will be in charge of collecting cash or check payments in-person. Team Treasurers will also work with Community Service Leaders and Team Fundraisers in organizing events.
