Private Training & Conditioning

Beginners Private Training (1 - 2 kids)

A great way to introduce your child to the game of basketball at a young age. Many times kids can become nervous when it’s time to “put themselves out there.” During tryouts, they might feel they aren't good enough, or don’t have the skills they need to compete with other players. Private training will give kids the opportunity to gain confidence through repetition of ball handling and shooting drills. Boost your child's confidence and show them that they can play the game and be successful.

Intermediate & Advanced Private Training (1 - 2 kids)

For the kids who are more experienced, private training will take their game to the next level. Practicing and training at an optimum pace will prepare your child to play at game-speed consistently. Being able to set, and keep up with, an advanced pace will help them stand out from the kids who are not playing at a higher level of skill.

Conditioning

Explosive speed and agility along with endurance are needed to drive past a defender and stay with your man. Each possession change requires a transition into a 94-foot run from one end of the court to another. These factors, plus very little downtime on the court, make top conditioning a necessity. During Mike's collegiate and professional basketball career he has learned the best drills and exercises that aim to maximize peak endurance and conditioning status.

Group Training & Conditioning

Group training is an awesome way to give your kid a formidable and economic workout. Group training will help him/her improve their skills while working out with a group. Group training can be very beneficial for players because the training setting allows kids to compete against other kids in 1 on 1, 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 drills and competitions. Group training and conditioning involves the following:

  • Dynamic Warm-ups and Stretching
  • Basketball Conditioning (wind sprints, line drills, suicides, competitions while fatigued etc.)
  • Ball Handling
  • Ball Handling into Shots
  • 1 on 1, 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 Drills

  • Post & Perimeter Shooting
  • Shell Drill Defense
  • Closeouts
  • Ball Handling into Shots

Skill Enhancing Clinics

Hoop Strong will host weekly clinics that will allow kids to get in the gym on a consistent basis to work on their game. Clinics will run for 90 minutes and be divided by age group. The clinics are designed for kids to work with other kids to improve their game and get more reps in at ball handling and shooting.

Camps

Day-long basketball camps will be run during the Holiday season and throughout school breaks from 10am - 3pm. The focus of camps is to provide kids with a fun and enthusiastic environment. This will make the kids and parents feel more comfortable and confident about playing basketball.

We will work on fundamentals through practicing drills, stations, and playing in scrimmages. Scrimmage and competition grouping is based on age and skill level, ensuring that your child will be on an appropriate team and exposed to maximum court time.
