Q: Is FCV Ashburn a new soccer club?
A: No. Ashburn Soccer club has changed their name to FCV Ashburn to highlight their partnership with FC Virginia, however, Ashburn soccer club has been in the Ashburn community since 1997.
Q: When are games?
A: Games for the travel teams are typically on Sundays and there can be some games on Saturdays. Most travel teams participate in at least 5 tournaments which take place over the entire weekend. Typically tournaments are played the weekend prior to the Fall season (August), Columbus Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Weekend, the weekend prior to the Spring Season (March), and the weekend after the Spring Season (June).
Q: When will I practice?
A: Practice times will be set once the teams are set but there will be 3 practices a week during the Spring and Fall seasons. There will be Winter and Summer training, however, there are less practices during those times.
Q: Can parents coach?
A: We do have some parent Assistant Coaches.
Q: Where will I practice and play my games?
A: All practices will be held at
Bles Park and Evergreen Sportsplex. Games will be in the DC metro area and for older ages, as far south as VA Beach and as far North as NJ. Home games for FCV Ashburn will be at Bles Park.
Q: Can my child play up at a older age group?
A: Yes, though please note that your child might be at a disadvantage by playing against larger, more experienced children. Your child may tryout at our Travel tryouts for an older age group.
Q: What is an Academy Travel Team?
A: FCV Ashburn uses an Academy Travel system for our U9-U12 Age groups. This Academy is two teams and players all train together. Players can be moved between the two teams throughout the season. This allows those that get better throughout the year the opportunity to play at a higher level without waiting for another year of tryouts. This allows for more play time for all the players as they can move between teams to better serve their needs and the needs of the teams.
Q: Who is FCV?
A: Football Club Virginia. FCV has been traditionally a girls club for elite soccer players. They are the only recognized ECNL league participant in the area. ECNL is the top league for female players. With the addition of Ashburn Soccer Club into the FCV family, our elite boys teams will participate in EDP. To check out FCV, go to

Q: Do I have to attend all Tryouts for my age group?
A: While attending all Tryouts is not required, the more that the coach is able to see you play, the better the chance you have of making it onto the travel team.
Q: How will I know if I make the team?
A: The coach of the travel team will call you after the last Tryout to let you know if you've made the travel team.
Q: Do I have to register to Tryout for a travel team?
A: Yes. You must register on the
www.fcvunited.com website under the Tryout Registration Tab. You must create a new login for that website, though you may use the same information you used for your www.fcvashburn.com account to create the login. It is important that our coaches have this information at registration so they may contact you to let you know if your player made a travel team.
Q: When are Tryouts?
A: The Tryout schedules are posted for the different age groups on this site for the U9-U13 age groups and on the www.fcvunited.com for the older age groups.
