Weather Information

To call for field status, the Loudoun County Sports and Rec Weather line is:
703-777-0456 for recorded information about field conditions after 4:00 PM on weekdays or 8:00 AM on weekends.

There are several sources of information to check to see if a practice or game has been rained out. First, check our website (field status tab) and your email one hour prior to scheduled practice and game times. Also, check the Loudoun County Information Line at 703–777–0456. This line is updated between 3:45 PM and 4:15 PM every day and around 7:00 AM on Saturdays. Loudoun County determines if field will open or close. Sometimes they will say all fields are closed, in which case, enjoy the day off as we are not allowed to play. Other times they will list certain fields which are closed. Lastly, they will use the term "game time decision". This means the field can open, but coaches should use discretion when they see conditions at the field.

When the county announces a field opening is a  "game time decision", FCV Ashburn may close all or certain fields based on our own observations of our fields. We make every effort to announce these closures on the website, via email, and with our Rained Out App. Please realize that while every effort is made to get the word out, there will be times that we are not able to update the website or send email before families have left for the field.

We do not often cancel for light rain (without lightning) unless the field is already saturated and becoming unplayable. By default, if you do not find out that a practice or game is canceled, you should assume it will go as scheduled.
