Joelton-McDowell Community Park was constructed in the 1970ās on land donated to the county. Land that must always remain a park. The first fields were the ones on the left as you come into the park. The Quad, or lower four fields, were build in 1991. The park boasts 2 full concessions, a picnic pavilion, 3 tennis courts, a football field, as well as, 7 baseball and softball fields. There is also a half mile walking track.
The park has served thousands of children and adults since its inception...for almost 40 years. We provide opportunities for children and adults to participate our programs. Our Baseball program is organized through Dixie Youth and Dixie Boys. The girls' softball program is organized through Southern Softball, while the Adult Softball League utilizes in park rules. Our Football and Cheer are governed by the Middle Tennessee Junior Football League.
Joelton Community Park is run strictly by volunteers. Volunteers who give time, talent, and who are rewarded with the smiles on children'sā faces they serve. Once a child joins our park, they and their families are a member of our Community Club and help decide the direction our park moves. Community Club meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month. Joelton McDowell Community Park and Joelton Community Club provide service that is a vital part of the Joelton Community as a whole.
Be sure to thank the volunteers who have helped make youth sports an experience your child will always remember.
