Concussion Policy

Potomac Soccer takes concussions very seriously. All players suspected to have or diagnosed with a concussion will be required to seek a medical evaluation and present a note indicating that they have been evaluated which should include a "return to play" protocol to be given to the coach or club officials before they will be allow to return to participate.  There are NO exceptions to this policy. 


All players, families, coaches are highly encouraged to attend the concussion seminar that Potomac Soccer hosts once per year which will be announced when scheduled.

Online Course (Required for all parents) 

All parents must complete the CDC Online Course and sign and submit the Concussion Policy Confirmation Form to your team manager. This form must be submitted by a team representative to the Club at the Concussion Information Seminar to be held annually. All Potomac families are strongly encouraged to attend this seminar.

This testing protocol can help coaches, parents, and medical professionals to make more informed decisions when head injury may occur.  Coaches and parents can access the baseline scoring through recommended mobile app:  Sideline ImPACT
