Of all volunteers, Coaches are the most visible and have the greatest impact on the lives of the players. Your time and effort help develop our kids’ physical and mental skills and nurture lifelong friendships. As a coach you will motivate, congratulate, teach, encourage, drill, console, strategize, lead, and mentor a small group of children.

AYSO requires all coaches and assistant coaches complete the following training and certification before taking the field with their players:

• Submit a Volunteer Application. (This has to be done every year.)
• Take the on-line Coach Safe Haven training course
• Take the on-line AYSO Certification and Training course for your age division. (Generally required every other year.)
• The age-appropriate coach training may also include a classroom session or a field session. Check with the Coach Administrator for field sessions which may be conducted for your age division.
