I didn’t get the word about a sport registration. How am I supposed to know when to register?

All city parks hold registration at the same time. We will send out emails to the entire park announcing the registration dates for each season. We also send out flyers through the public schools in our park zone and put up some signs in our park zone. Each sports page on this website includes the standard registration dates for that particular sport.

Does my child need a physical in order to play a sport?

The only sport that requires a physical is tackle football. Flag football does not require a physical. Check the football webpage for updates on upcoming dates for physicals that are offered in the area. SportsMed usually offers physicals on a Saturday at the beginning of August.

How do I know what park zone I live in?

The city has a web site where you can enter your address and it’ll show you the zone you’re in. Click Here

Do I have to be a board member to make suggestions?

No. All suggestions are welcome and can be made to any board member.

Can I attend an HLL board meeting?

Yes. Any general member is welcome to hear and/or be heard after which time the meeting will continue with board members only.

How are coaches chosen?

The president of the sport presents a list of coach candidates to the HLL board for approval. The board does not choose coaches from the list, they simply approve or disapprove the submitted candidates.

Why aren’t all the baseball all-star teams announced at the same time?

Little League sanctioned tournaments, such as the 11-12 tournament, have strict rules and these rules specify exactly when a team can be announced and practice can begin. We have teams participating in other tournaments which are not Little League sanctioned and are governed by local rules. These may have no restrictions on announcements and practices. In this case we will not announce any team until after all the players on it have completed their regular season games.
