The guaranteed placement deadline has passed. A late fee now applies and you will not be guaranteed a spot on a team, but we will do our best to get you added! You will not be notified of coaching and team assignments until March 2025.

If you need assistance with the online registration process, click here.

Please note the following:

We will NOT authorize a request for practice times, dates or coaching requests. Head coaches get to choose when their team practices. There will be NO REFUND of the registration fee except for the following cases:

  • if a written request to remove your child is postmarked (or sent by e:Mail) no later than 10 days from the final registration date, (player drop forms available here)

  • your child is on the waiting list and is not placed on a team

  • your child is injured or becomes ill before the second game of the season and can not participate in any more games

  • or your family moves out of the Mason area before the season begins.

Refunds will NOT be given for conflicts due to practice/ game conflicts.

The only way two children will be assigned to the same team is if the parents volunteer to coach and assistant coach together. There are no exceptions to this policy as SAY National requires us to draw the teams at random. See below for more information!

If your assigned team in the Spring presents any scheduling conflicts we do NOT facilitate those conflicts by moving children to different teams or to different practice nights, there are no exceptions to this rule.

IMPORTANT: Before joining the waiting list, please review our Information page and our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page for more specific information about Mason SAY!

Coaching Information

Mason SAY is a volunteer organization. We exist thanks to parents volunteering their time to coach. Due to the number of players who sign up, team sizes will be increased and will be played with a larger amount of players on the field if we do not have enough volunteer coaches.

No previous coaching or soccer experience is required! We have a coaches clinic to teach you everything you need to know!
Anyone willing to help is welcome to apply!

Things to know:

  • Low time commitment. About 2-3 hours a week during season with the practices and games. Instructional practices once a week. Other divisions have 1 or 2 practices a week.
  • Head Coaches choose practice days and times! If you head coach multiple teams, we make sure practices and games do not conflict. If fields are listed as open by Mason SAY, it is head coach’s discretion on whether to have practice.
  • Head Coaches can choose 1 assistant coach OR sponsor! If your player wants to be on the same team as another player, the only way to do so is if one parent is the head coach and requests the other parent as an assistant coach. Teams are randomly drawn each season according to SAY rules for fairness.
  • If you become the head coach for multiple teams, we intentionally schedule games so the teams you coach do not conflict with each other for games.

If you are interested in being a head coach for your child’s team, please indicate your interest on your child’s online registration form.
