BRUNSWICK CAL RIPKEN

Cal Ripken Baseball : Ages 6-12

Majors:
This division is open to players ages 11 & 12 and is skill-based.  The Majors division offers players the highest level of competition. Each 12 year old will be placed in the Majors and will also need to attend the respective division evaluations,  any 11 year old that is not selected for the Majors will play in the AAA division. Attendance of an eval does not guarantee that your player will qualify for the division in which they attend with the exception for 12 year olds. Players are eligible for postseason play with league playoffs and District, State, and Regional tournaments.  Players become eligible for the All-Star team(s).

AA/AAA
Starting the 2016 season, players aged 7-11 will be eligible to play in AA or AAA.  These 2 divisions will be skill-based divisions and not age-based divisions and each player must attend their respective division evaluations. Attendance of an eval does not guarantee that your player will qualify for the division in which they attend. Time & Location TBA. Players become eligible for the All-Star team(s) and they can look forward to postseason play along with District, State, and Regional tournaments.

AAA:
Players aged 8-11 who are ready for increased competition and who demonstrate the highest level of skill in this age group will be eligible to play in AAA.  Teams in this division will travel to other towns to play games.  Skill development is a top priority in this division and players are encouraged to play different positions.

AA: Players aged 7-10 who are ready to transition from coach-pitch to more of a conventional game will be eligible to play in AA.   In this division the coaches and players continue to work on skill development and having fun at a more competitive level of play. Teamwork and game strategy are introduced.

A: This division is open for players ages 6-8 or any child that is enrolled in First grade.  The A division places an emphasis on fun and basic skill development.  Games are considered non-traditional in the sense that all players will take the field, all players will have an at-bat each inning, the coaches pitch, and the coaches are encouraged to be on the field during games.  All this is done to teach the kids the fundamentals of the game and to prepare them for the next level of softball and baseball. Please note all first grade players will be included regardless of their birth dates.

*When registering, you will register your child in the division in which their birth date corresponds
