I / We hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and encouragement for my child participating in the Roy Gayle Pony Baseball / Softball Leagues, by following the Code of Conduct.
1. I/We will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches,
umpires and any league officials at every game, practice or associated event.
2. I/We will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win.
3. I/We will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.
4. I/We will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and
enjoyable experience for all.
5. I/We will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, and alcohol and will refrain
from their use at all youth sports events.
6. I/We will remember that the game is for youth – not adults.
7. I/We will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.
8. I/We will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race,
sex, creed or ability.
9. I/We will help my child enjoy the experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan
assisting with coaching or providing transportation or assisting Roy Gayle Pony Baseball / Softball
program as a volunteer.
10. I/We will abide by all of the rules and regulations of Roy Gayle Pony Baseball / Softball, and know that I
am responsible to read and know them.
11. I/We agree to accept all decisions of the game officials, umpires, coaches, Board of Directors as being fair
and called to the best of their ability.
12. I/We will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player or parent such
as booing and taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane languages or gestures.
13. I/We agree to furnish the proper documents required by Roy Gayle Pony Baseball / Softball for my child
to play (Failure to do so may result in the release of a player)
14. Any disrespect from a parent/fan directed towards game officials, board officials, or any person
volunteering and working the game, creating disturbance either in the stands or on the playing field, or has been ejected from the game will be referred by the Board of Directors for disciplinary action, and can result in game forfeiture.
15. I/We agree to take responsibility for any actions that violate this Code of Conduct by a guest or relative,
attending parent, or guardian.
16. I/We agree to the proper chain of command when filing a complaint or voicing my opinion regarding an
area of concern.
17. I/We will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or
violence.
