Available Teams
All Teams are subject to having enough registered participants to field a team.

Football: 
Flag (ages 3-5)
6U (cannot turn 7 before August 1, 2023)
8U (cannot turn 9 before August 1, 2023)
10U (cannot turn 11 before August 1, 2023)
12U (cannot turn 13 before August 1, 2023)
14U (cannot turn 15 before August 1, 2023. Also cannot be playing for high school team)

Cheerleading:
Jr Tiny Mites (ages 3-5)
Tiny Mites (ages 5-7)
Mitey Mites (ages 7-9)
Pee Wee (ages 9-12)
** Older cheer teams can be formed if enough interest

Registration Information

2023 Registration Events are being held at the Putnam Public Library from 6:00pm-7:30pm on the following dates:
March 22nd
April 4th
April 8th
May 10th
May 24th
June 6th 
June 20th

During these registration events there will be WPTP board members and coaches available to ask questions and provide information. Parents can also pick up registration packets, or drop off completed packets during these times. 

Completed packets consist of:
+ Original Birth Certificate (only needed for those who did not play in 2022 season). Once our books are confirmed & approved by Pop Warner (mid-August), original birth certificates will be returned. 
+ End of Year Report Card (for grades 3 and up only)
+ Parent/Player Contract
+ Player Physical Form (this is a Pop Warner specific form and must be completed by a doctor with a 2023 date)
+ Registration Payment. $50 for flag football. Tackle/Cheer is $125. (cash/check/venmo/NOW scholarship) 

General Information:
+ Our teams are open to children ages 3-14 in Putnam, Pomfret, Thompson, and Woodstock. Also any border-towns (examples: Eastford, Webster (MA), Southbridge (MA), Killingly, Dayville, Ballouville, Foster (RI), etc.) 
+ Season begins August 1, 2023
+ Games usually begin around Labor Day
+ Season ends anywhere from early November to early December depending if teams qualify for post-season play
+ End of season awards banquet is held in early-mid December
+ All participants are required to participate in fundraising activities. These include "Tag Day", Raffle Calendars, NFL Patriots raffle tickets and other additional/new programs. 
+ All families are required to volunteer for at least 1 job per child, per season. These volunteer opportunities include chain gang, concessions, field cleanup and more.
