PRACTICES
We are starting division wide practices January 4th through February 1st in an effort to get players extra practice time and get coaches in place for the teams prior to the draft day! These are not mandatory but strongly recommended to get your player pre-season conditioning.
Your team managers will receive their rosters by the first week of February and you should hear from your coach about your team practice schedule no later than February 6th. Please wait to hear from your coach before contacting us. If you do not hear from your coach by February 11th, please email us at [email protected] or [email protected].
Team practices should begin the weekend of February 8th and no later than February 15th. Practices are generally twice a week, on weeknights and/or Saturday mornings. Practices are located at Robert Frost Park (near Elkhorn/Hillsdale) or Pioneer Park (near Garfield/Auburn). Practices for JUNIORS division only are generally held at the local High School
MANDATORY Parent Participation - 10 Hours:
We are a non-profit volunteer-based organization. Coaches, managers, team parents, and volunteer umpires are always needed. Every team needs a team parent or scorekeeper. Every team needs parents to help drag and chalk the fields before games.
Every family is required to work 10 hours during the spring season: which includes mandatory two hours field maintenance day and four hours in the snack bar (that's only two shifts). Snack bar scheduling is flexible and can be worked on days or times that your player's team is not playing (if that is what you desire). We need to reignite the passion for parents to be involved in their child's sports programs.
Around June 1st, every family who completed their 10 mandatory hours, will be issued a refund of their $100 participation fee.
Snack Bar Information:
4/10 volunteer hours must be completed in the snack bar. Do not worry, you will not be alone! Volunteers are needed at least 20 minutes prior to game time to help set up and take care of the line that usually forms before games. Volunteers are also needed to stay at least 20 minutes to help with closing duties. More detailed information coming soon!
Scorekeeping:
Each team (Divisions AA and up) needs a scorekeeper. We will hold a scorekeeping training sessions and release videos/resources to help scorekeep effectively. More detailed information coming soon!
Sponsorships/Fundraiser Information:WE'RE LOOKING FOR SPONSORS! Do you own your own business or work for a company willing to sponsor FFLL? We have different tiers of sponsorship. Please inquire how you or your company can be a sponsor today!
Every year, on our field maintenance day, FFLL throws a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser, so come enjoy some pancakes :)
We will be selling world's finest chocolate for Spring 2024. Candy pick up date will be announced by Jan 1st and money must be turned in by March 8th to be considered for prizes.
Little league day at the River Cats game is usually in April, we are waiting on D6 to finalize the date for our district. This is a big fundraiser for FFLL. FFLL receives a percentage of the proceeds. It is a lot of fun for our players to be able to walk on the field during the parade waving to all the fans. There is also a chalk talk before the parade.
