Since 2007, every league in New Jersey District 12 Little League selects one 12-year-old player to receive the Jim Davis Sportsmanship Award. The Jim Davis Sportsmanship Award recipient is selected based on the following criteria:
- Helps other players
- Displays enthusiasm and team spirit
- Plays fair at all times
- Doesn't argue with the umpires
- Always does what the Team Manager asks

- Is a graceful loser
- Is polite and courteous
- Is a team player
