Required Equipment

1.  Baseball Glove

The number one rule of thumb when looking for a glove is to try a few on to make sure they fit and feel good.

2. Protective Cup

All boys are required to wear a cup under their pants for all baseball events.

3. Baseball Cleats

Rubber cleats only, metal cleats are not allowed.

4.  Batting Helmet

* The batting helmet should fit snug.  If the helmet moves around too much, then it’s too big.

* Helmets should sit 1 inch above the eyebrows

* Helmets should sit evenly on your head, not be pointed upwards or downwards

* All helmets should be stamped with the NOCSAE certification.

* When buying a helmet with a C-Flat, Jaw Guard or Extension make sure it is NOCSAE certified and allowed for use at HTRBA like the:
1.  Boombah DEFCON helmet and face guard
2.  Rawlings Mach helmet and EXT flap
3.  Easton Pro with Jaw Guard

Mixing manufacturer's helmets with different manufacturer's jaw guards will void the NOCSAE certification and will not be legal to use at HTRBA or any other Little League.

5. Bat

All bats must have the USA Baseball stamp on them as shown below.  Any other bats are prohibited from use in Little League practices or games.

* The bat should reach, but not exceed, your child’s hip.

* Bat weight is measured in minus or drop weight.  The difference between the length and weight of the bat.  A 30-inch bat that ways 20 ounces is a drop 10 or –10.  The larger the drop weight the lighter the bat.

2020 Spring Challenger Division

The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with differing physical and intellectual abilities to enjoy the game of baseball.  By providing support for each player's unique needs, these players can join along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide.

Today, more than 30,000 children ages 4-18, or up to 22 if still enrolled in high school, participate in over 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide.

Teams are set up according to abilities, rather than age, and can include as many as 15-20 players. Challenger games can be played as tee ball games, coach pitch, player pitch, or a combination of the three.
