Men's lacrosse allows more contact than women's lacrosse. As a result, more protective equipment is needed.
The Key West Youth Lacrosse League will rent required gear for $25 per season (first-come, first-served). You will only need to bring a mouthguard. If you did not indicate you needed gear during registration but now wish to rent from the League, contact the equipment coordinator for availability at: [email protected].
The following equipment is required:
Head/Eye Protection
- A protective helmet, equipped with face mask, chin pad and a cupped four point chin strap fastened to all four hookups, must be worn by all players.
Pads
Mouthguards
- Strapped mouthguards are available in youth and adult sizes. No clear mouthguards allowed!
- Options for braces are also offered.
Gloves
- All players are required to wear protective gloves. The cutting or altering of gloves is prohibited.
Goalies must wear a throat protector and chest protector, in addition to a helmet, mouthpiece, gloves and a protective cup.
Lacrosse stick
The following are optional:
Rib pads and athletic supporters are strongly recommended, but not required. Protective cups are required for goalies, and recommended for other players.
