Overview:

Eastside Youth Athletics (Formerly Warner Park Youth Football), Inc. (ESYA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, organized for the purpose of organizing and teaching youth football. ESYA was formed in 1972 by an interested group of individuals that cared about providing a youth football program for the children of the north-side communities. The organization grew and began to take shape. The organization has grown from that original group to what it is today. ESYA has added a cheerleader squad since the 2001 season, which continues to grow each year.

Philosophy:

The game of football, is just that -- a game. The number one reason children participate in sports is to have fun. If they don't have fun, they will soon quit. It is detrimental to the player if there is too much pressure placed on them too early to achieve a result rather than simply
experiencing the sheer joy of the game. Youth football is not about how many wins or losses are accumulated, yet some misguided parents and coaches, think just the opposite. Most people would agree children do not think like adults, but then why do we expect them to play like adults? Proper football development means children participating in age appropriate activities, so they are able to experience, comprehend, and execute he game as it relates to where they are in their cognitive development. It is about players learning all the skills necessary to develop in the game. It's about receiving equal play time, so that each player is given an equal opportunity to learn. ESYA wants you to respect the game of football, respect the players, the opponents, the referees, the parents, the volunteers and the coaches. As a result players should come out of their experience with ESYA  as better people and better citizens, as well as better football players.

Goals:

The overall goal of  ESYA is to deliver a full contact youth football program to the youth and families of the north-side communities, so that they may:
