Anthony DeNicola

Anthony DeNicola, a new Jersey native, grew up in Freehold, New Jersey. In his adolescent years, Anthony always played sports, specializing in soccer and baseball. He pursued both sports his entire life, excelling at the high school and club levels. In 1998, Anthony was awarded a full scholarship to play both sports at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York. There he won two conference championships (one in each sport) and continued to pursue baseball as a professional in Anzio, Italy. After a short stint of playing baseball overseas, Anthony returned home to start his teaching and coaching career.

Now in his 13th year as a high school mathematics teacher and soccer coach, Coach DeNicola has moved around quite a bit, coaching soccer in a variety of school and club programs. After 7 years of teaching and coaching in Jackson, Freehold and Perth Amboy, Coach DeNicola moved to Rome, Italy where he continued to teach and pursue the game that he loved. Overseas, he had the opportunity to learn from fantastic professionals and submerge himself in a culture where soccer was the number 1 sport. He learned form fantastic professionals and players including Gianluca Salvatori (former Italian Women's National Team Coach) Ian Blackwood (Manchester City Ladies Football Club) and Heather Ierardi (Director of Coaching and Vice President of Italia Select Academy). Coach DeNicola always speaks about the time that he spent working with his players overseas and how rewarding it was to coach them. He speaks of their passion and how he was able to learn from them. He noted how soccer was part of their every day culture and this motivated him to improve and learn. Several players from Italia Select Academy and his school teams have gone on to play at the college and professional level. Some former players are coaches and referees and some continue to play for fun. Now he is here with us to share his experiences and to bring excellence within the game of soccer every day.

In August of 2012, Coach DeNicola created Student Athlete Coaching and Consulting (S.A.C.C.) with the idea of voluntarily guiding student athletes through the college recruiting process. Since it's creation, he has mentored several student athletes, assisting them in making the jump to the next level. In some cases this was transitioning from high school to college and other cases the transition was from the college game to the professional game. S.A.C.C. is now an experienced group that trains, coaches, mentors, and consults student athletes. S.A.C.C. coaches student athletes within their sport, focusing on their complete development, maximizing their potential as a student athlete.

Coach DeNicola is nationally certified through the NSCAA and has obtained several diplomas over the past 3 years.  He also has attended the NSCAA National Convention the past 2 years and intends on presenting at next year's venue. Coach DeNicola is passionate about winning and teaching youth soccer.  He looks forward to working with the coaching staff and board to develop a curriculum that best fits the players and families of Warren County and the surrounding areas.  Given his education in soccer and various experiences working with professional, college, high school and youth clubs, it's a certainty that Warren United Soccer Club will continue to grow and the players will continue to thrive.
