Orangevale Youth Soccer Club – February 2020 Board Meeting Minutes

Call to Order: 6:15

Attendees: Pete Phillips, Lianna Kovar, Ed Miles, Candy Stickney, Dan Kovar, Andy Stevens, Felice Miller, Terry Miller, Mark Loutzenhiser, Rick Kirkpatrick

Absent: John Stockett, Scott Taylor, Julie Durkin, Amy Munsey, Larry Radcliff, Jeff Rodli

Guests: Jo Studley, Reymond Harris

• Reymond is here to offer help with clinics and give the club support in developing players

  -we can utilize Reymond’s staff for our clinics

• Reymond and Terry will come up with a plan and costs associated for skills clinics for the U-8 and U-10s
• Felice suggests that a goalkeeper clinic would be really beneficial

Field Coordinators – Jeff Rodli (absent), Amy Munsey (absent)

• General update, move goals at Coleman

  -Pete sent Amy a message that the goals need to be moved off the North field at Coleman for softball.

  -They may not be using the fields for softball this season, Pete to follow up (it has been confirmed that no softball organization has contacted ORPD for the use of the Coleman ball diamonds this year)

   

  Referee Training Coordinator – Scott Taylor (arrived at 6:25)

• General update

  -changes coming soon for referee class structure

  -it will all be online and won’t have a field session

• We will conduct In-service courses this year and gear one course for returning refs and one for newly certified referees (to augment the lack of a field training session in the new training/certification process)

   

  Referee Coordinator (Assignor) – Larry Radcliff (absent)

• General update

  -nothing to report

• Additional $10 has been added to Ref registration bringing it up to $70
• Pete to talk to Larry about scheduling a ref class

   

  Equipment Coordinator – Rick Kirkpatrick (left early)

• General update, inventory status

  -will be checking the inventory, should be in good shape

  -specifically check the balls, nets, and flags

• He will be helping Amy paint OV1 and OV2

   

  Electronics Coordinator - John Stockett (absent)

• Wants an update on what’s going on with online registration

  -will need to communicate with the registrars on this

• Wants to create a more functional website

-needs to come and make a formal motion

-this should wait for now, the new online registration platforms come with website options

Treasurer – Dan Kovar

• 2019 Budget Review

-could save some money on a new club phone, Pete and Candy will check with AT&T

-participation pins, lets skip them this year

 Rec Coach Coordinator – Terry Miller

• OYSC skill clinic update

  -will be meeting with Reymond about clinics for spring

   

   

  Member at Large – Ed Miles, Mark Loutzenhiser

• Ed and Larry went to the FLSL AGM

-Ed was appointed as the FLSL representative for all communication and meetings for Cal North

Secretary/Publicity – Lianna Kovar

• AGM meeting minutes

  -conflict of interest forms need to be printed and signed at next meeting

   

   Registrar – Candy Stickney, Felice Miller

• 2020 Registration dates (Mar 25, Apr 1 and 15), new program update

  -Pro plan 3.4% plus $3 per transaction

  -discussion of raising the fees for players to cover extra registration costs

   

  Assistant Manager – Andy Stevens

• 2017 Cal Franchise Tax Board report

  -will be completed and submitted prior to February 29, 2020

   

  Manager – Pete Phillips

• General update

  New Business

• Andy Stevens called a motion to raise the fees by $5 for all players

  -Scott Taylor seconded the motion

  -all members present voted in favor

  -Pete Phillips abstained

• As a side note it was decided that a $5 increase wouldn’t cover the fees in the new registration platform, new amount is a $10 increase.
