Coach and Referee Appreciation Dinner

Coaches, please contact your team referees and invite them to join us for the Appreciation Dinner.  Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held immediately after the Appreciation Dinner.   

The AGM is open to all member families of the Orangevale Youth Soccer Club (OYSC).  The 2020 OYSC Board of Directors will be voted into office during the AGM and ALL positions on the OYSC Board are open.  We have several board members retiring this year so, if you have ever considered becoming more involved in your local community youth sports programs, here is your opportunity.  As usual, we will end the night with our yearly Soccer Raffle.

The following information summarizes the responsibilities and duties of some of the positions:

Duties and responsibilities of the OYSC Equipment Coordinator

• Inventory uniforms at the end of the season
• Attend club sign-ups to size players for uniforms
• Order club uniforms and other needed equipment including balls, club logo apparel, and coach’s shirts, etc.
• Distribute club uniforms initially and as needed for late sign-ups
• Distribute coaches packets
• Order and distribute club participation pins
• Sell club apparel during picture day
• Retrieve club equipment at the end of the season

Duties and Responsibilities of the OYSC Treasurer

• Monitor the financial health of the club
• Make deposits
• Coordinate delivery of chemical toilets during regular season
• Collect any “bounced” checks received
• As an OYSC board member, assist with club registration nights, select try-outs, photo day, attend the monthly board meetings, attend the annual general meeting, and assist in any other duties that might be needed.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Assure that all bills for the club are paid in a timely manner
• Prepare annual operating budget

Duties and Responsibilities of the OYSC Field Maintenance Coordinators

• Attend monthly board meetings
• Ensure appropriate soccer goals are removed and stored for the Winter
• Ensure appropriate soccer goals are set-up in the Spring for seasonal play
• Ensure OYSC soccer fields have been marked for select try-outs
• Ensure OYSC Micro soccer fields are established annually
• Ensure OYSC soccer fields are marked (and re-marked as needed) for seasonal play
• Ensure soccer fields that are used for established annually
• Ensure soccer fields that are used for the Orangevale Summer Invitational and Fright Nite tournaments are marked
• Responded to requests of any field maintenance issues
• Maintain requests and grant permission of Twin Lakes & Ottoman (including field permits, Twin Lakes, Ottoman, Coleman, & Pasture 1)
• Liaison between OYSC and San Juan Soccer Club for field usage requests
• Attend registration dates in March to help register children for the next season
• If needed, help out at Select try-outs in April
• If needed, help out as necessary at Picture day

Duties and responsibilities of the OYSC Girls and Boys Recreational Coach Coordinators

• Attend a monthly board meeting
• Attend registration dates in March
• Responsible for boys coaches/girls coaches of age groups u-6 and older
• Conduct a OYSC coach meeting in August
• Communicated effectively with coaches to notify them of important dates
