Additional Information:

The U8 Pre-Academy (PA) program provides motivated players ages 6-8 with a specific training program designed to enhance their technical skills. The foundation of our program is our three core skills: dribbling, controlling the ball and shielding/turning the ball. The dribbling sequences we use will be based on the Coerver method and are similar to the sequences used in our Academy/Select programs. Our goal with the PA program is to get players ready to transition to the Academy program.

In the program, there is a group training session on Monday nights run by Jason Bishop, PA director and all of the teams' coaches. In addition, players will train once per week with their individual coach. All coaches in the program have been licensed through USSF and Georgia Soccer.

The PA program operates under an open enrollment policy. There is no tryout for the program. Players are assessed at the beginning of each season and placed on teams such that each team has a balanced level of skill compared to the other PA teams. It is HIGHLY recommended that players be recommended by their recreational coach, a PA coach or the PA director if they are already in the Cherokee Impact program before registering for the program. Players coming in from other organizations should have at least one year of playing experience prior to registering for the program.

In addition, they will also play at least one weekend of games against PA teams from another club. These games are usually on Sunday and parents will be notified well in advance of the game schedule. Individual teams may also choose to play in an additional tournament during either the fall or spring season.

Players can participate in the program on a season to season basis and teams will be re-organized each season as needed to create balanced teams. Those wishing to participate in our PA program are required to complete the recreational registration form.  Tuition cost for one season is $370.00** (Registration and field fees included)
