West Seneca Girls Association House Registration

WSGSA is a non-profit, volunteer organization that was formed for the purpose of conducting a Girls Softball program for the residents of West Seneca and surrounding areas. We believe that every player should have a place to play. Our goal is to develop each player and provide an appropriate level of competition for each girl.

Uniforms:  If unsure you selected the right size please look at our sizing page to verify size!

Practices:
Coaches at each age group schedule their own practices. They will start practicing depending on the weather around May 1st. Most coaches will also try to schedule practices on the same nights that they will be playing. In addition, the new improved indoor facility will be made available to each team twice. WSGSA will also be running clinics for all of the players, starting shortly after registration is set.

Game Dates:
Games will start at the end of May.

Team Assignments and Volunteers:
Players can request to play with the same coach that they had last year and that will be granted, after the initial registration, teams will then be filled by request as to the order that others register. Our history has shown that it is important that the girls want to play with their friends, we try to make all requests work and these must be made at the time of registration. All parties involved must all make the request. If you want to play together, start the conversation now and have everyone involved make the same request. Switching players after they have been placed is often impossible, don’t wait. Teams are filled by previous years request 1st so there is not always additional room to add players if all girls are returning.

Coaches:
If you did not coach last season and you want to coach...
PLEASE LET US KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE We cannot guarantee you a team (to coach) until we receive all of the registrations and make up the teams. We are always looking for good coaches, please let us know if you are interested by filling out the volunteer role online. Once you are assigned a team to coach, you may request a specific assistant and/or team manager, for your team. We will do our best to accommodate you.  We will refund your daughter's fees upon completion of a full season.

DON'T FORGET TO FILL IN THE VOLUNTEER FORM IF YOU WANT TO BE A COACH, AN ASSISTANT COACH OR A TEAM MANAGER FOR YOUR CHILD'S TEAM.

Team Managers:
Suggested "job" description: sort and distribute uniforms for your team, add snack schedule to game schedule and distribute, contact players (via email or phone) if there are changes to the schedule, have first aid kit with you at practices/games, plan team party at end of season, collect $ for coaches gifts ($3-5 per family is sufficient).

Contact with Coach:
The volunteer meeting will be held in late March. Your coach will call and/or email you after that date. If you have not heard from them by April 15th, please email [email protected]

What to bring to practices and games:
The league provides, helmets, bats, balls and catchers equipment or batting tees for all teams Players are not allowed to wear jewelry to practices and/or games, unless it is medical jewelry, and then it must be taped to the skin.

Refunds:
You may request a refund if your child is injured or decides s/he doesn't want to play. ALL refund requests will include a $20 processing fee ($25 if more than one child in the same family is requesting a refund), we will deduct this fee from your refund. In order to receive a refund, your child cannot have participated in any games. If the request is necessary due to an injury, after the child has already participated in one or more games, we will review the request and let you know if you will receive a partial refund. Refunds will arrive in the form of a check to your home address. Refunds can take several weeks to process.
