South Plainfield Soccer Association

South Plainfield Soccer Association is a great organization for your sons and daughters ages 7 to 16 who are interested in having fun and developing their soccer skills and playing at a more competitive level. We form boys and girls teams in each age group whenever possible except the youngest children (under 8 years old) who play in a coed program.

The league we play in is called Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer Association (MNJYSA) which is part of the New Jersey Youth Soccer Association (NJYSA) which is part of the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA). We compete in a fall and spring season. The fall season runs from September to mid-November and the spring season from March to mid-June. Players are rostered to a team for the entire year (September through June). Games are generally played on a Sunday afternoon for the 9-16 year olds and on Saturdays for players under 8. The younger players (under 10 years old) play small sided games. This allows the younger players to have more touches on the ball, so they can improve their soccer skills and be more involved. The older players play a full sided game of 11 players on a side (11v11).  A team is placed into a flight with teams of comparable strength, so games are challenging and competitive.

Normally there is a ten game schedule each season. During our regular season we typically play five games at our home fields and five are played away. Away games are usually within a 30 to 45 minute drive. Our home fields are Kenneth Ave.and Memorial Field.
