The Fernwood Falcons Youth Sports Organization is a non-profit organization located in the beautiful historic Savannah, Georgia.Our mission,with a primary focus on academics,is to introduce basketball and teach youth the values, respect ,responsibility,accountability,and teamwork through the avenue of it.We create a safe,fun,and family oriented atmosphere where we emphasize teaching fundamentals, techniques,and necessary tools essential for skill development.To us,each player’s IMPROVEMENT is paramount,as wins and losses are put in perspective and are not used as direct measures of overall success.We also instill in each participant the importance of social awareness in the community and the world outside of the gyms.Ultimately , we provide an experience that will make our participants better students,better athletes ,and better people than they were before joining the “Falcon Family”.

Players of all skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to participate.We provide the most skilled players with high levels of training and competition to enhance IMPROVEMENT,just as we provide beginners with the proper balance of training and just enough competition to ensure interest and growth.Our student athletes practice or train regularly,focusing on the importance of fundamentals,conditioning,techniques and the proper approach to the game of basketball. Along with our very precise and skill-development based practices,we also conduct camps and clinics to aid our student athletes in the basketball learning experience. As perennial members of The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) we travel to compete in many highly competitive tournaments sanctioned by the AAU. We also play in competitive tournaments and leagues locally.Beginning players compete in the less competitive city league and in addition to this,we hold numerous inter-team scrimmages enabling our young players to grasp the game’s concept and style.

With the dedication of our volunteer coaches and supportive parents,our goal is keep the teams playing and bonding together year in and year out creating the camaraderie and chemistry necessary to be successful individuals and teams.We intend to CONTINUE our dedication to these kids all the way up to and through highschool. Ultimately producing College ready Athletes and productive members of society.
