Our Mission

For some, the ability to prepare, motivate and execute the tasks required to effectively manage a youth sports team comes naturally.  For the rest of us... not so much.  We understand the significant amount of time dedicated to make our programs work, and we truly appreciate the sacrifices you make.  Let's face it, managing youth sports is a second job.  To help make each year a great experience, we've collected some information related to great coaching for all levels of the game.

Our mission is to ensure that every volunteer who participates in our league is armed with the tools necessary to make it as easy and enjoyable for all players, parents and spectators.

We strongly encourage all managers and coaches to use this resource as much as possible.  Here you will find articles, videos, documents and other items we hope will strengthen the desire to better yourself, your players and the game.  We always appreciate feedback or suggestions, and would like to hear if this information is useful or can be improved.

Thank You

Preventing Arm Injuries in Young Players

For years, the arm injury rates in youth baseball has been on the rise.  Due to this trend, several years ago, dramatic steps were taken by Little League Baseball® to make youth baseball a safer and healthier sport.  This effort has been successful in curtailing many of traumatic injuries due to overuse.

However, there is much more work to be done.

Building the Relationship with Parents of Youth Sports

Make sure your team experiences a positive and successful season by getting everyone involved and onto the same page from the very start. Avoid parent/coach conflict, and instead become a powerful force of encouragement and support by working together. As a coach, it's your responsibility to take the lead in these relationships and to set behavioral standards. Let them know that yelling on the sidelines won't be tolerated, and that problem parents will be addressed. This is best done in a pre-season meeting between coaching staff and parents before the first practice, so that everyone fully understands the season expectations ahead of time.
