2026 Tri-Star Basketball Skills Contest

Bring them to the 2026 Mt. Vernon Optimist Tri-Star Basketball Skills Contest!
By popular demand, we have brought back this competition and expanded the age divisions to include our youngest and oldest players.

Grade Divisions
- Pre-K & KG
- 1st & 2nd
- 3rd & 4th
- 5th & 6th
- 7th & 8th
- 9th-12th
This is a FREE activity. Registration is on-site only.
How Does It Work?
Participants travel with their tabulation sheets to three dedicated skill stations, putting their best efforts forward for passing, shooting and dribbling. Participants will be scored at each station.
The Format Is Open House
Participants may come any time during the contest window and leave after they finish the stations.
Awards
First place and runner-up for each division will receive an award. You will be contacted if your player wins.
We will have a recognition ceremony and present awards to your player on Friday, March 13, at halftime of your age groups' championship game.
- PreK & K winners will receive their awards at Mt Comfort Elementary during halftime of the 5th/6th Grade Championship game. This game starts at 6:00 p.m.
- 1st & 2nd winners will receive their awards at McCordsville Elementary during halftime of the 1st/2nd Grade Championship Game. This game starts at 6:30 p.m.
- 3rd & 4th winners will receive their awards at Fortville Elementary during halftime of the 3rd/4th Grade Championship Game. This game starts at 6:30 p.m.
- 5th & 6th winners will receive their awards at Mt Comfort Elementary during halftime of the 5th/6th Grade Championship Game. This game starts at 6:00 p.m.
- 7th & 8th Grade winners will receive their awards at Mt Comfort Elementary during halftime of the M/H Grade Championship Game. This game starts at 7:15 p.m.
- 9th-12th Grade winners will receive their awards at Mt Comfort Elementary during halftime of the M/H Grade Championship Game. This game starts at 7:15 p.m.

The MVO basketball team with the highest percentage of players participating will win a pizza party!
