2026 Mt. Vernon Optimist Scholarship Contests

Mt. Vernon Optimist Club is proud to present the 2026 Essay & Oratorical Contests

Mt Vernon Optimist Club has presented scholarship opportunities to our community for over 30 years 

Mt Vernon Optimist Club is not just about sports!  We do many community outreach programs for the children and students of our great community and our surrounding communities.  Anyone is eligible to participate in these scholarship contests.  Winners will receive cash prizes to utilize for their college plans however they see fit.  They will also have an opportunity to move on to bigger scholarship opportunities!  We have given out over $50,000 in scholarship money to students of our communities with this program.   


Important Dates:

Applications are due by February 13, 2026. 

The Oratorical Contest will be held on February 23, 2026 at the McCordsville United Methodist Church.
