Website Manager

Welcome to Cherry Creek Little League! Below are answers to common questions about registration, schedules, teams, equipment, safety, and more.

Registration and Fees

How do I register my child for the season?
Registration opens in early December. You can find the Player Registration tab at the top of the page.

What is the cost of registration, and what does it include?
Fees vary by division and cover your child’s jersey and hat, as well as securing practice and game fields. Find them on our registration page.

Are there any financial assistance programs available?
CCLL does not have a formal financial aid program, but we have sponsored youth before. Please contact [email protected] to discuss options.

Can I register my child after the deadline?
No. To ensure proper field reservations, team formation, and volunteer coordination, registration must close by the deadline.

Schedules and Logistics

When do practices and games start, and how long is the season?
Start dates vary by division and weather conditions. Softball and older baseball divisions begin practicing in late March, while younger (Tee-Ball & Minors-A/Coach Pitch) divisions start in early May.

How often are practices and games?
Kids are typically on the field 2-3 days a week, including practices and games. Games are held on Saturdays, with occasional weeknight games.

Where are practices and games located?

  • Spring Season: Mission Viejo Park
  • Fall Season: Spring Creek Park
  • Softball & All-Star Teams: Travel the Denver Metro and surrounding areas for away games

What happens in case of bad weather?

  • Only the league cancels games, while coaches may cancel practices
  • During a lightning delay, stay in your vehicle until CCLL lifts the delay.
  • Download the TeamReach app (use Group Code CCLLRain) for weather notifications and GameChanger to communicate with your coach.

Teams and Playing Time

How are teams formed?

  • Younger divisions: Randomly assigned, with prior experience factored in for balance. (Tee-Ball & Minors-A/Coach Pitch Divisions)
  • Older divisions: Players attend a skills assessment and are drafted to ensure fair competition and player development.

Can I request for my child to be on the same team as a friend?

  • Younger Divisions: Most buddy and coach requests are granted. (Tee-Ball & Minors-A/Coach Pitch) Email Us
  • Older Divisions: We accept and communicate all requests, but cannot guarantee them. Email Us

How is playing time distributed?
CCLL is a developmental league—coaches ensure all players get time in both the infield and outfield and take a rest in the dugout each game.

Coaching and Volunteering

Who will coach my child’s team?
CCLL is 100% volunteer-led, including coaches, who are usually parents. All coaches are vetted by our coaching coordinators.

How can I volunteer as a coach or team parent?
Log in to your user profile and select Volunteer in the left-hand panel. A no-cost background check will be sent to your email.

Are there training resources for parent coaches?
Yes! Coaches can access resources on our Coaches Corner page, Coaching Clinics, and contact a Coaching Coordinator for support.

Equipment and Uniforms

What equipment does my child need?

  • Cleats
  • Bat
  • Glove
  • Helmet (typical, but optional)
  • Player Pitch Divisions: Strongly encouraged to wear heart guards

Is there a required uniform?
CCLL provides a jersey and hat. Coaches will decide on team pants and sock colors.

Where can I buy equipment?
Equipment is available at new and used sports retailers. Our sponsor DICK’S Sporting Goods is a great option.

Safety and Conduct

What safety measures are in place?

  • Dedicated field crew for maintenance
  • Trained umpires
  • Pre-game bat checks (USA bats required, no USSSA bats)
  • Coaches complete concussion protocol certification

What is the concussion policy?

  • Players suspected of a concussion must be cleared by a healthcare provider before returning.
  • Return-to-play protocol includes progressive steps from light activity to full-contact play.
  • Red flags to watch for: Headaches that worsen, neck pain, behavior changes, numbness, vomiting, or loss of consciousness.

What is the code of conduct for parents, players, and coaches?
