Concessions

Concessions play a vital part in the success of the Sparta Sports Park. 100% of the money collected from concession sales stays with the park. Concessions help, in part, fund playing surface maintenance, new equipment, and future expansion efforts. As a community project, the Sparta Area Recreation Authority asks each organization that uses the facilities to help run the concession stand. This includes AYSO soccer and fall youth football as well as baseball/softball.

Working in the concessions can be fast-paced and a great way to spend a couple of hours. Depending on availability, the concession stand typically offers freshly cooked hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats. Also offered are hot pretzels, freshly popped popcorn, assorted candy and chips, and even various novelty ice cream treats. The concession stand also offers cold pop, Gatorade, slushies, coffee, and hot chocolate.

Sparta Little League mandates each team selects a date to work in concessions. The concession stand requires three volunteers - one to grill, one to run the pay station, and one to act as a runner. Kids are also welcome to work in the concession stand while accompany an adult.
