OFF-SEASON PROGRAMS

Indoor Team Workouts – 8U and older – November thru March
More than a clinic but not quite a practice.  Team workouts focus on developing high-level individual skills that contribute to a team’s success rather than team specific stuff such as bunt coverage and back-ups (which will be covered extensively during outside practices in the spring).  The weekly workouts are open to GGSA rec players as well as existing Diamond players.  There will be separate 10U & 12U sessions.

Catching Clinic – 10U and older – Fall & Winter
Catcher is the most important position in softball.  (Just ask any pitcher after her catcher couldn't handle strike three.) The catching clinic is 5-week program that will cover all aspects of the position including receiving, blocking and throwing.  Throwing out base runners, covering bunts, plays at the plate and other defensive situations will also be taught.  Instructor will be a former Diamond and current college player.

Pitching Academy – 8U and older – Fall & Winter
The Pitching Academy is series of weekly private 30-minute pitching lessons.  Semi-private (2 students at same time) lessons are available at a reduced rate.   The Fall portion of the Academy runs for 5 weeks and starts in October.  The winter program is for 10 weeks starting in January.  Instructor will be a varsity high school pitcher.

Pre-Season Skills Clinic - 8U and older - March
The Pre-Season Skills clinic is a 4-week clinic that will be held on Tuesday nights at the Grafton High School gymnasium in March  The clinic will focus on the basic softball skills of throwing, fielding, hitting, and running.  The clinic will be run by high school coaches Pete Cardoza and Allyson Cole along with high school players from GHS and BVT.  8U and 10U divisions will go from 6-7 pm. The 12U session will be from 7-8 pm.  While this geared towards the rec league, Diamond players re welcome to attend.
