BECOME A REFEREE - OR - GET RECERTIFIED

4 STEPS TO BECOME A REF
1. PREPARE: Learn the KMSL rules and Laws of the Game.

2. PRACTICE: Take the Referee Preparation Quiz [Click Here]
3. TEST: Take the Referee Certification Exam [Click Here]
    a. Referee Certification Exam is open throughout the season
4. TRAIN: Attend the in-person field training. 2024 on the field trainings will be held by the Club DORs and will be communicated and coordinated by them.

REFS WHO NEED CERTIFICATION
. Referees that attended a 2023 KMSL clinic, but did not receive certification, are required to pass the certification exam to be eligible to ref for the 2024 season.

EXISTING REF 2023 CERTIFICATION
. Referees that held 2023 KMSL, USSF or WIAA Licenses.
. To obtain a 2024 KMSL license, you are required to pass the Referee Certification Exam in STEP 3 above. 
. Referees that hold 2023/2024 USSF or WIAA Licenses.
. You are encouraged to review the KMSL rules and Laws of the Game. Follow STEP 1 above.
. You must submit THIS FORM with proof of your license and acknowledgement that you reviewed the certification training materials.

WHO CAN BECOME A REF?
. Refs must be 12 years old before March 1st, 2024 for the 2024 season.
. Complete the 4 steps above
. To pass the 100 question Referee Certification Exam, a minimum of 75% is required to pass.

DOES THE TRAINING COST ME ANYTHING?
. No. KMSL member clubs will be invoiced. Contact your club Director of Referees for information regarding how the club handles the fees.
