In order to get approved for a roster, each coach and team manager must be setup in the NHSA GotSport system. The ASC admin will send you an email with a link to accept a "roll" within the club. Once you receive that email you can setup your new GotSport account. Please use the link or go to https://system.gotsport.com and use the Forgot Password link to setup your password. Once you are logged in, enter your information and make sure the info for your profile is accurate, including your DOB. If you have previously completed SafeSport training for another club or sport, make sure to use the same email address and name that was used for that training.
Please upload an ID style photo as well which will be used on your coach or team manager ID card.
Next click on the Dashboard button up at the top and you should see a section with the Background Check and Safe Sport status boxes in the lower right.
If they say Required in yellow or Expired in red, click the ‘More Info’ or 'Details' link to input information. For the Background check, the next menu will have a blue button for ‘Submit New Report’.
Click this button and a form will open. Fill out the information and click Submit at the bottom. Check back in a day or two to confirm it is approved (It will say Approved and Fulfilled on your Dashboard page). If we get to Friday morning before the first game and it is not yet approved, please call Pat.
For SafeSport, click on the ‘More Info’ link from the Dashboard and the next menu will have a ‘Check Record’ button and a ‘Start Course’ button.
If you have completed the full course or the refresher course, click the check records and it should bring up your completion. It may not happen instantly, so after you tell it to check records, log out and log back in after a few minutes to see if it found the record. If it does not find it, please click the "Show Safe Sport Upload Form" link to upload your PDF copy of the cert, and email [email protected] with a PDF copy as well. If you have not done anything with SafeSport in the recent past, this is a requirement so click the Start Course button and setup a SafeSport account. Use the exact same name and email as you have listed in the GotSport account. Our organization is US Soccer and you will need the Access Code shown on the screen above.
Starting in 2022, the League is mandating that all teams have at least one coach with a Grassroots level coaching certificate. These courses provide a good baseline of knowledge for running training and practices, and basic strategies for teaching fundamentals, and we recommend that you take an online course as soon as possible.
The document linked here: USSF-course-registration.pdf outlines the process for registering for a course. There are options for online classes available now and blended in person classes will likely be added toward the end of the summer. The online courses are 2 hours of self-paced learning and meet the minimum requirement. If you can, I recommend you take the in-person version. It is two, 1 hour webinars followed by a 2 hour on field session observing and interacting with experienced coaches running training and scrimmages with kids. The classes are divided by age and playing format (7v7, 9v9, 11v11). The online courses list a 4v4 as well, but that is not a format we use, so I recommend you start with the 7v7 format.
With these steps completed, you will be ready to officially be listed as a coach or team manager for the season. Thank You!
