The Roxbury Baseball Association (RBA) is a 501(c)(3) organization which provides baseball instruction and competition to 300+ children in Roxbury Township, NJ. The Association is managed by a twelve member Board of Directors.
The Recreation Program operates spring and fall seasons each year. Teams are established for play within the Township of Roxbury based on the number of players registered for play within a specific League Age Bracket. Whoever signs up is assigned to a team regardless of skill or experience, and is guaranteed playing time.
Baseball Age Eligibility-Players must be at least 4 years old, and not older than 16, by April 30th of the year the season starts. This is based on guidance provided Babe Ruth League, Inc. (Link)
The Spring season begins in Early April and runs through the Mid-June. Games/Practices will be 1-2 nights per week (approx. 6:00 start time) and Saturdays (times vary)
Divisions of Play:
Tee Ball
Ages 4-6
Instructional format. Kids hit from a Tee. Games played on the 45 foot baseball diamond.
PeeWee B
Ages 5-7
Instructional format. Coaches pitch to the kids, with a tee being used as necessary. Games played on a 45 foot baseball diamond.
PeeWee A
Ages 6-8
Instructional format. Coaches pitch half game & kids pitch half game. Games played on a 60 foot baseball diamond.
*Minors
Ages 8-10
Competitive format. Kids are pitching entire game. Games played on a 60 foot baseball diamond.
**Majors
Ages 10-12
Highly competitive & advanced level of play. Games played on a 70 foot baseball diamond.
Juniors
Ages 13-16
Highly competitive & advanced level of play. Games played on a 90 foot baseball diamond. Roxbury Jrs. will play in a co-op league with Mount Olive, Long Valley, and Chester.
All Minors & Majors players will be required to attend an evaluation for division and team placement.
*8 yr olds requesting to play "Minors" will be subject roster availability and may be asked to play PWA
**10 yr olds requesting to play "Majors" will be subject roster availability and may be asked to play Minors
