KAMI HARP - Staff Coach
2022-2023 Teams
Coming Soon!
My name is Kami Harp and I have loved the game of soccer for as long as I can
remember. I am very excited to share my passion for this game with your
children. I have been playing soccer since I was six years old and started
coaching right out of college. As a child, I grew up in Northern Virginia and
played for Braddock Road Legend. I competed regionally with the Region I ODP
team and went on to play Division I soccer at DePaul University. After college I
played semi-professional for the Richmond Kickers Destiny in the W-League.
Over the last 17 years I have coached both high school boys and girls in Virginia, North Carolina Florida and Illinois. I was an assistant coach at the collegiate level at the University of West Florida. I also served as a state team coach for the North Carolina State ODP girls program.
I currently hold a USSF National B License. The foundation of my coaching
philosophy is to create a structured, disciplined and stable environment where
commitment, personal values and principles are the priority. My methodology is
to develop a player’s understanding of his/her connection to their team, with and
without the ball. My holistic approach to player development is to promote a
positive outlook focusing on personal growth to enable players to take
responsibility for their own development. While winning is part of the process,
nurturing and developing a winning and professional attitude is more important. I
believe it is important to focus on four major areas of development, Character
Development, Technical Mastery, Tactical Application (soccer intelligence), and
Creative Play.
