The Ball Mastery Program PDP/PDL is an excellent way to prepare for our Fall season! We are super excited to return outdoors, and look forward to having your child join us!
Our coaching staff provide players with an environment that is challenging but enjoyable, allowing them to advance their game in a focused setting, where we implement a proven, age-appropriate curriculum for 5-8 year olds that will focus on improving:
Dribbling
First touch and ball control
Foot and eye coordination
Ball manipulation
1v1 skills
Turns and change of direction moves
Juggling
Trickery
Fitness, balance, and agility

These two-hour sessions are run by our most in-demand professional coaches, who are licensed, experienced across multiple age groups and have acquired an understanding of not only the game, but of teaching and developing players. Our staff takes great pride in the effort to build and foster a foundation of skills, confidence and passion for the game.

What is PDP/PDL?
The Player Development Program/League is a Brit-Am and Potomac Soccer Association partnership that focuses on player development for the 5-8 year old soccer player (Kindergarten thru 3rd grade) through a proven, age-appropriate curriculum where we teach the core soccer skills through fun activities, scrimmages, and guided discovery. Our coaching staff fosters an environment that is fun, positive, and educational -- to provide the best possible learning experience! This program also creates a player pathway to Potomac's U8 & U9 travel soccer program. We offer programs in the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer!

Description
The Ball Mastery Program & Fitness Clinic is an excellent way to prepare for one of our Brit-Am All Star MSI teams or your local club team so that when the Fall comes around, your child will be fit and confident! We are super excited to return outdoors, and look forward to having your child join us!

These two-hour sessions are run by our most in-demand professional coaches, who are licensed, experienced across multiple age groups and have acquired an understanding of not only the game, but of teaching and developing players. Our staff takes great pride in the effort to build and foster a foundation of skills, confidence and passion for the game. Within our age-specific curriculum, coaches will provide goalkeepers with activities that will help develop a fundamental understanding of the position and reinforce techniques. All keepers will be shown exercises they can do on their own and will receive a personalized player evaluation at the end of the clinic or camp.

High School Prep Camp - Aug 3-7 Only

This camp is for high school aged athletes who want to get ready for the upcoming season. The program will focus on both soccer training and fitness so that players will get the most out of their bodies by building better training habits. 

SOCCER 
Players will work on their technique, tactics, decision making and improve their ability to play in tight spaces.
FITNESS 
Each session will focus on improving core strength, sprinting technique, balance, coordination, explosiveness and agility. Any athlete that attends these sessions will see an improvement in their physical performance, confidence and mental toughness.

What is Brit-Am doing to ensure a safe environment with COVID?
Due to COVID restrictions and Social distancing requirements, each player will work individually in their own designated play area. Coaches will also remain a minimum of 6 feet from each player in order to conduct the classes safely.

Guidelines

PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
If you are not comfortable with returning to play, DON’T. You are the only one who will make the decision when your child returns to play.
Ensure your child is healthy, and check your child’s temperature before activities with others.
When at training, wear a mask if outside your car. Masks can be removed during soccer activity as long as participants remain at least 6 ft from others.
Ensure child’s clothing is washed after every training.
Ensure all equipment (cleats, ball, shin guards etc.) are sanitized before and after every training.
Notify your Brit-Am Soccer immediately if your child becomes ill for any reason.
Do not assist your coach with equipment before or after training.
Be sure your child has necessary sanitizing products with them at every training
PLAYERS RESPONSIBILITIES:
Wash hands thoroughly before and after training.
Bring, and use, hand sanitizer with you at every training.
Wear mask before and immediately after all training. Players do not need to wear a mask during activity.
Do not touch or share anyone else’s equipment, water, food or bags.
Practice social or physical distancing, place bags and equipment at least 6 feet apart.
No group celebrations, high-5s, hugs, handshakes, fist-bumps, etc.

Potomac/Brit-Am Summer Day Camps are a fun and exciting way to develop each child’s skill. Our camps are run by Potomac Soccer Association Staff coaches in a fun and safe environment.

Tots Camp, Age 4-5 
Each day players in the Tots Camp will concentrate on learning the rules of the game and basic techniques. This will be done by the use of small games such as some of the kid's favorites, Sharks and Minnows, Stuck in the Mud, Red light-Green light, Ghost Busters and Raid the Castle. All these games will help develop motor skills and cognitive abilities. For the older children, we will also conduct game like scrimmages, where the players will get to learn the rules of the "REAL GAME", and compete in team activities.
- Players can choose to half day option only.
- Players may also participate in our 'optional' Crazy Hat and Best Dressed Soccer Uniform competitions  to win prizes!

PDP Camp, Grade K-1
Players who attend the the Half Day Player Development Program Camps will get to prepare both technically and tactically for Fall team play under the guidance of professional licensed soccer coaches with a strong playing background. Players will play some of the best games that challenge the kids to perform many of the skills needed to play soccer at a competitive level. The players will work on decision making, dribbling, turning, controlling the ball, passing and scoring goals! Having the freedom to play and be creative at this age is very important for their development and the Brit-Am coaches have just the right personality to bring these games to life. Scrimmaging is a huge part of learning and the kids will get the chance to learn the rules of the game as well as what skills to use at the right time and place on the field. Making good decisions is key!
– Players will be split into appropriate age or skill level groups the first day of camp. Adjustments may be made.
Kids may participate in our optional Crazy Hat and Best Dressed Soccer Uniform competitions to win prizes.
Camp for children entering kindergarten and 1st grade is offered from 9 am- Noon.


PDL Camp, Grade 2-3
Our Player Development League summer camps offer players the opportunity to improve their game in a fun and game-oriented setting. Our professionally licensed coaching staff from Potomac Soccer Association and Brit-Am Soccer Academy will help build and foster a foundation of skills, confidence and passion for the game.
Based on the Potomac Soccer Association Player Development curriculum, players will spend time working on their core skills of dribbling, passing, shooting and turns/moves through fun and challenging games. Small sided tactical situations will teach the players to make good decisions in attacking and defending situations. Our camps also provide the perfect setting for players to develop both individual and group friendships that can last for many years. These bonds can become instrumental in a child’s development both on and off the field.
Players can register for full day (9am - 3pm ) or half day (9am-noon)
Morning sessions will be focused on technical progressions and small sided tactical situations.
Afternoon sessions focus on different types of 1v1 games, shooting games, and fun team related activities.
Players will be split into appropriate age or skill level groups the first day of camp. Adjustments may be made.

PDL Advanced Camp, Grade 4-8
The Player Development League/All Stars Camp will focus on small sided tactical situations, teaching the players to make good decisions in attacking and defending situations. A different skill and technique will be covered each day including dribbling, passing, ball control, shooting, and turning. Sessions will be structured as a progressive practice, going from simple to complex as the coach attempts to challenge the players.
Players can register for full day (9am - 3pm ) or half day (9am-noon)
Morning sessions will be focused on technical progressions and small sided tactical situations.
Afternoon soccer camps will be focused on different types of 1v1 games, shooting games, and fun team related activities.
Players will be split into appropriate age or skill level groups the first day of camp. Adjustments may be made.

Campers can participate in our optional Crazy Hat and Best Dressed Soccer Uniform competitions to win prizes!


Goalkeeper Camp, Grade 3-8
$200/Half Day Winter Early Bird,$300 Full Day (Full Price After April 1, $250/$350)

morning session 9 am - Noon
The players will get 90 minutes of intensive goalkeeper skills and techniques training and 90 minutes of footskills training with the outfield players.
Aspects covered -

* Footwork, Balance and Positioning
* Shot Stopping
* Dealing with crosses
* Diving for saves, deflections and 1v1's
* Kicking and distribution
* Decision making and communication

For those who stay for the afternoon, (Full Day camp is 9-3 pm) After lunch, goalkeepers will have a chance to apply their skills in scrimmages and fun shooting games with the outfield players. They will also have a chance to participate as field players in these games to help develop their foot skills, which are key to a goalkeeper's success.

HS Prep Camp, Grade 9-12
This camp is for HS Aged athletes who want to get ready for the upcoming season. The program will focus on both soccer training and fitness so that players will get the most out of their bodies by building better training habits.
FITNESS
Each session will focus on improving core strength, sprinting technique, balance, coordination, explosiveness and agility. Any athlete that attends these sessions will see an improvement in their physical performance, confidence and mental toughness.
SOCCER
Players will work on their technique, individual and small group tactics, decision making, mental toughness and physical attributes. Players will see an improve in their ability to play in tight spaces, under pressure and to work quickly with and without the ball.
