ABOUT US
The Oakland Patriots Youth Football and Cheer or OPYF is a non-profit organization that offers young children ages 5 to 12 affordable opportunities to compete and develop valuable skills. Since its establishment, OPYF had one goal in mind-create a stellar youth sports program that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the children in our community. OPYF is a 100% not-for-profit organization. This means every OPYF events and games have been conceived, orchestrated, and run exclusively by its members and volunteers.
For 4 years, OPYF has produced an outstanding atmosphere for competitive tackle football and cheerleading in the city of Murfreesboro, TN. It is an organization that is focused on teaching sportsmanship and life long lessons of the game with respect to physical education. It is OPYF's objective to manage and deliver a youth sports program that is fun and promotes a life long love of the game of football and cheerleading!
OPYF CORE VALUES
1. We will be servants. As we make plans and decisions about the league, we will put the needs and interests of the young men ahead of our own personal expectations.
2. We will be open. We will encourage all parents, entities and communities who can serve as positive role models to join us in our endeavors. And we will involve as many children as we can enable, assist, encourage and equip.
3. We will be firm. We will establish and consistently enforce rules for the good of all participants. Those who lose sight of our purpose will be subject to discipline and to removal if necessary.
4. We will be fair. Our organization will make every effort to ensure that each child with the desire to participate gets the opportunity to play—without regard to prior experience, athletic ability or physical size.
5. We will be fun. We will strive to make our whole experience together an enjoyable one. Winning and losing will be only a part of the mix of challenges and rewards we provide for our youth.
6. We will be teachers. Our programs will commit to teaching our players the appropriate skills to enable them to grow both on and off the field.
7. We will be examples. On and off the field, we will lead by example. Our league will reflect the servant hood, selflessness and generosity that is evident in the personal lives of our program leaders and volunteers.
These goals will be achieved through the combined resources—personal and corporate, intangible and tangible, direct and indirect—of dedicated volunteers, caring parents, and business associates who wish to partner with (WGMYFL) to create and maintain an outstanding youth football league
