​Hometown: Born in Landstuhl, Germany and grew up all over the U.S. in Washington D.C., Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.  Sterling now lives in Nashville (for about 14 years) with his wife Amy and 3 sons.

​Coaching ExperienceCurrent: Sterling is the local director for select soccer club SSA Nashville, a division of Southern Soccer Academy located in Atlanta, Georgia.  He is also Head Varsity Girls’ Soccer Coach for Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville, TN. 
Youth: For 8 years, Sterling was the Executive Director for Harpeth Youth Soccer Association in the Bellevue area as well as the Director of Coaching for the select soccer program, Harpeth FC.  Sterling has coached teams in many age groups through the years, from mini-kickers as young as 3 to high school age teams pursuing college scholarships.  Before joining the staff at Harpeth, Sterling coached club teams in Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska.  His Brentwood Soccer Club girls’ team, Real Madrid, won the state championship in 2004.Sterling has also coached high school and middle school soccer.  For the Fall 2013 season, he coached the middle school girls at Franklin Road Academy in Nashville.
