Paxar Indoor Soccer Game Rules
Format
4 field players plus a goalie. Most teams use two defenders and two forwards.
Substitutions
All substitutions can be made at any time in the game and “on the fly”, but players need to leave the field before the substitute comes on.
Offsides & Walls
Offsides is not enforced in indoor soccer. Balls can be played off of the walls and there is almost never a dead-ball where the ball goes out of play.
Ankle-Hacking
VYSA indoor soccer strongly discourages hacking at the legs as a defensive technique to stop an attacking player. VYSA does NOT believe that the leg, shin, knee, thigh, calf, hip, and ankle are PART OF THE BALL. Here is the facility rule on leg-hacking:
“A direct kick will be issued when making contact with an opponent before touching the ball when tackling an opponent to gain possession of the ball (Note: it is always a foul if the tackler contacts the ball handler before touching the ball. However, it can still be a direct kick foul if the ball is touched first but the tackler was "careless, reckless, or used excessive force" and was judged to have kicked, tripped, charged or jumped at the ball handler. Or, if the Referee believes the tackler played in a "dangerous manner", an indirect kick can be awarded)”
Lopsided Games
Lopsided games will occur in soccer and its easy for the score to quickly get out of hand. VYSA indoor requires that an extra player be added onto the field for the losing team once there is a 4 goal difference. The extra player will be taken off once/if the score goes back to a two goal difference.
