General Information For VYSA Indoor Soccer

How long does the indoor season run?

The VYSA indoor soccer season is broken up into two sessions and the kids can choose to do one session or both sessions.  The dates that these sessions run are:
        Session 1:        November 1st - January 31st.
        Session 2:        February 1st - April 30th.

What are the travel requirements?

VYSA strives to offer two different comittment levels for indoor soccer:
Indoor Rec:        Kids practice with the travel kids, but play in the Saturday Paxar league
Indoor Travel:    The kids will practice with the indoor rec kids, but play mostly in the Binghamton Indoor league on Saturday mornings.  The coaches of the team will decide which kids are ready to play on the travel team and which need more time playing in the VYSA indoor league at Paxar.

Do the indoor soccer teams have try-outs?

No.  All kids are happily accepted onto the indoor teams.  VYSA believes that any child can become a great player if he/she puts their heart into soccer and given proper coaching.  Furthermore, VYSA strives to make indoor soccer a great experience for all players and try to insure that the kids having fun is the top priority.  If a team has enough players for two groups then one group may travel to Binghamton to play in the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex league while the other, less experienced group will play in the Paxar league.  The coach will decide which players are on the travel squad and this decision will be solely the coaches decision.

How often do the teams train?

All of the VYSA indoor teams train twice per week with the exception of the U6 kids.  The U6 kids only have one optional training session per week.  The complete practice schedule for all teams will be released by mid October and it will remain fixed through April.

Are indoor practices manditory?

For all U6 and U8 age groups practices are not manditory.  VYSA does require consistent attendance at practice for the U10 and older age groups.  As always, the coaches are flexible and understand that the kids have a heavy school workload and many other comittments.

Where do the kids practice?

All of the VYSA indoor teams train in our indoor facility located at 317 South Thomas Avenue in Sayre, PA.  We have a 60'x120' field with goals on each end plus a 60'x60' skills training room.

Who coaches the indoor soccer teams?

All of the indoor teams are coached by trainers that have E-licenses for coaching soccer.  VYSA also retains the services of two professional trainers that have both played at a high level of soccer.  Our trainers are child-friendly and well-versed at all technical aspects of soccer.
