It is with sadness that we announce the cancellation of our annual Winterfest Gala. For decades, Winterfest has been a vibrant celebration of our WBYA community and families, as well as serving as the cornerstone of our fundraising for the year. Proceeds from Winterfest provide need based scholarships for children who otherwise could not afford registration fees. Our Scholar Athlete program is also largely funded by Winterfest profits. In 2020 alone, nearly $5000 in scholarships were awarded to WBYA alumni to support their pursuit of a college education.
2020 has taken a toll on us all, but we look to the new year with hope and optimism. We are busy planning a full spring season and cannot wait to see the kids out on our fields again. Since 1981, WBYA's mission has been to provide healthful, meaningful sports and recreational programs for the youth in our community, to encourage sportsmanship and to promote team sports on a non-exclusionary basis. Our kids need that more than ever these days.
We are asking for a little help from our friends so we can continue to carry on this mission....and to continue to support the community with our Scholarship and Scholar Athlete programs.
