Reminder for all coaches

Reminder for coaches that once you have a registered as a coach an email has been sent with the following tasks to complete before you are eligible to become a CYBA Youth Baseball Coach. please review the checklist below and complete asap.

Completed registration to coach under the Volunteer tab above. once complete, review the email sent.
Please note if you are interested in applying for a Select League team coach, an interview will take place by board members for selection, as we will only have one select team per division. All select League coaches are still held to the same standards below.

Become "BASE" Compliant
1. Visit Base Compliant tab , under coach tools. complete requirements to proceed.
2. Continue through the Base Compliant checklist to complete background check.

Email confirmation and contact from CYBA Board members will take place after completion to begin coaching.
Mandatory coaches clinic will be scheduled and text confirmation sent.
Once clinic is completed, gear and teams will be dispersed and practice may begin asap.

CYBA has partnered with USA Baseball and the developmental program for coaches! This is a huge opportunity for any coach wanting to learn or exceed expectations as well as clinics, courses, and certifications. The checklist below must be completed before seasonal registration is closed and teams are assigned.

BASE Compliance Checklist

To become BASE compliant:

1. Sign up/Log in to your USA Baseball Develops account. This is a free account and a very very useful tool to have as a coach.

2. Enroll in the BASE Compliance Certification.
a) Click the "EDUCATION" tile on the USABDevelops.com homepage or USA Baseball app and select the “CERTIFICATIONS” tile
b) Click “MY CERTIFICATIONS”
c) Find the BASE Compliance Certification and select “Enroll”

3. Complete the Abuse Awareness for Adults course.
a) Click the "EDUCATION" tile on the USABDevelops.com homepage or USA Baseball app and select the “COURSES” tile
b) Locate "Abuse Awareness for Adults" and enroll
c) Complete the course

4. Pass a Standard Background Check through the USA Baseball - Standard Package Certification.
a) Click your name in the top right corner
b) Select “MY ACCOUNT”
c) Click "Certifications"
d) Locate "USA Baseball - Standard Package" under "Available Certifications"
e) Purchase the Standard Background Check - this fee is covered by CYBA and a promo code was sent in the email for registration completion.
f) Complete the questionnaire
g) If you have successfully completed the requirements, you will receive a USA Baseball Background Questionnaire Confirmation email
h) Complete the questionnaire

Once all steps are completed CYBA will reach out to perform Interviews and Schedule Coaches Clinic.
