Asheville
Empire Lacrosse Program's Mission / Vision / Values
Mission:
What is our purpose?
Asheville Empire Lacrosse board members and
coaching staff are parents, business owners, past lacrosse players and coaches.
We are members of the US Lacrosse Organization, abide by its policies and
guidelines and follow a planned curriculum. Our community provides for the
development and training in the native American sport of lacrosse – the fastest
game on two feet - for the youth of Asheville and its surrounding towns throughout
the year.
Vision:
What do we want to become?
As our primary goal is to promote and grow the game
of lacrosse with young men ages 7-18, Asheville Empire Lacrosse provides an outstanding
training and development youth lacrosse program in Western North Carolina with
well-coached, fairly-priced, and efficiently-run offerings that endorse our values,
player development, and love of the game.
Values:
What do we stand for?
To achieve our Mission and Vision, the actions and
attitudes of our community – board members, coaches, players, and parents
associated with Asheville Empire Lacrosse – maintain sensible core values. We seek to instill good sportsmanship in our players and build a strong sense of
teamwork. We
strive to teach our players the value of hard work and self-discipline through
intentional practice sessions and sharing in wins and losses of games as a
team. We
intentionally emphasize the development of self-respect, honesty, integrity,
fairness, fitness, goal achievement and skill through learning and playing the
great game of lacrosse.We
encourage leadership among our players and foster independent decision
making.
While Lacrosse is a sport, we want to help all
players develop real life skills that they can use in the future and empower
them to be the best that they can be both on and off the playing field. Honor
the game.
