Congratulations to Parsippany SC Academy players Cassie Saldarini, Julian Lee and Katerina Loncar (all pictured above) who have been selected and will be attending the FC Bayern National Team Camp.  Players from all 25 GPS States were selected for the event, where GPS National Team coaches will finalize the National Teams Rosters for the Summer Competitive schedule. The Camp will be held February 9-11, 2018 at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The GPS FC Bayern National Team Program comprises the top players from throughout the GPS franchises. The GPS FC Bayern National teams compete in various events throughout North America and select International events such as the Dana Cup outside of the normal Youth Soccer competitive calendar.

What is it?

The GPS FC Bayern National Team Program aims to provide a professional soccer player experience to the Elite players within the GPS family. Players successfully admitted to the program will receive the highest standard of coaching, experience additional training centers and travel as a team to prestigious tournaments and events.

How does it work?

The GPS FC Bayern National Team Program will identify players, boys and girls, from U13-U18, who will take part to regional selection events. These will represent the first step of the selection process to the National Team.  The GPS FC Bayern National Team will comprise the best players from all GPS franchises and affiliate clubs across the country.

Who is it for?

The GPS FC Bayern National Team program is for players within the GPS organization who have excelled in their own regional environment.  Players should exhibit exemplary work ethic, commitment and have an excellent technical and tactical base.

Selection Process

At the start of the season, players will be nominated to attend the regional events. Regional coaches and DOC’s will send players meeting the above criteria and GPS Elite Training Head Coaches will assess all the players during the event. Those players who are successful will be invited to to the GPS FC Bayern National Pool Event with the view of being selected for the GPS FC Bayern National Team Summer Competition.

FC Bayern Munich is one of the biggest clubs in world football and has a proven track record of developing world class players. The club is recognized for producing the very best players who can play at the very highest level of international soccer. At the 2014 World Cup Final, five of Germany’s starting 11 were products of the FC Bayern Academy - Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Muller, Kroos and Hummels.  The FC Bayern ID program, first launched in March 2015, is a club neutral program supported by FC Bayern’s official American youth partner, Global Premier Soccer and all official FC Bayern Affiliate clubs.

As part of FC Bayern’s commitment to the US market, the club has put structures in place to coordinate FC Bayern Player ID program across the country. This program offers players a unique training experience delivered under the guidance of the experienced coaching staff at GPS. The aim of the program is to identify players with the potential to become 1st team players capable of representing FC Bayern Munich at a professional level.
