General Background Information

Under the PA Child Protective Services Law, all volunteers working with children must submit to required background checks. The Susquehanna Township Girls Softball Association strictly follows the CPSL for its volunteers..

You must have completed background checks of file with STGSA that include:
1) a Child Abuse Check through the PA Department of Humans Services; and
2) a criminal background check through the PA State Police; and
3) if you have resided in PA for 10 consecutive years an affidavit filled out and signed, or if you have not resided in PA for the preceding 10 years you must go through an FBI fingerprint process.

Steps 1 & 2 above are free of charge to volunteers, and if you have obtained these check for any other volunteer group or for your employment, STGSA will accept a copy of those documents.

If you have been a PA resident for the last 10 years you will need to fill out an STGSA affidavit.

If you have not been a PA resident for the last 10 years, you will need to provide a copy of the FBI fingerprint check, or obtain the check at your cost.
