Thank you for considering Kernersville Little League as the home for your ball player! We take pride in hosting you and your child at our complex. Our league has been here since 1961 and has hosted many local, state and regional tournaments. We are a youth baseball and softball league for Ages 4-18. KLL offers a great baseball/softball experience from well trained coaches at the area’s premier baseball/softball only facility. Swaim Complex offers 7 baseball/softball fields, 2 Tee ball fields, 5 batting cages and a 3 field practice complex.
Our organization is made up of all volunteers and is not supported by the town of Kernersville. The funds to run our organization are gained through local sponsors, league fees. Please consider being one of our volunteers to keep Kernersville Little League a thriving organization. 1. What are the recommended playing ages for each divisions (Baseball&Softball). We recommend that you play 1 season in Tee Ball (Age 5) if you have never played baseball before:
- Ages 4-6 Modified Tee ball (Coach pitches 3 pitches and then kids get a tee)
- Ages 5-8 Minors-Machine Pitch (Spring loaded machine pitches the ball to the kids)
- Ages 7-10 Minors (This is all kid pitch)
- Ages 9-12 Majors
- Ages 11-12-13 – Intermediate
- Ages 13-13 Juniors
2. How long does the Spring and Fall Season run?
- Fall Season – September through Early November
- Spring Season – April through Early June
3. Where is your complex located?
- 9217 County Line Road, Kernersville, NC 27284
- 9225 Stunstall Road, Kernersville, NC 27284 (Sahabi practice complex)
4. When is All-Stars and how are they selected?
- All star applications are accepted in mid to late May. Teams are selected through a combination of a player vote to determine 6 players and manager vote to fill out roster. Teams are announced after the spring season and tournaments begin between the second and third weekend in June (younger ages begin first). Winning a tournament advances you to the next level. Our Intermediate team started the district tournament on June 8th and advanced to the regional tournament to play their final game on July 22nd. Please understand the commitment involved with representing your league and community when considering all stars.
5. How do we know if a game is cancelled because of weather?
- Your coach receives communication from the league as soon as we know. We ask that each manager communicate with their team to ensure everyone knows of the cancellation.
6. How many games are played?
- The Season will consists of a minimum of 12 games. During the season you will have 1-3 games per week.
7. When and where are my practices?
- You will have scheduled practices at both Swaim Complex fields and Sahabi practice complex. The dates and times will be worked out with our field scheduler and your coach. Typically you will have 1-2 practices a week before the season and during the season as the schedule permits.
