Q: What is YBA?

    A: YBA
 is celebrating its 5th year and is the first and longest running youth basketball league in Nassau County Fl.  We provide a competitive and     balanced recreational basketball program for boys and girls 8 thru 15 years old. Of primary emphasis are sportsmanship,     teamwork, and healthy competition. YBA is a non-profit organization. 

Q:  When and where are our games played?


    A:  All of our games are played at New Life Church Gym on Saturday mornings
.

Q:  When and where are our prectices played?

    A:  Practices are at three locations; New Life, Celebration Church, and the Yulee Sport complex
.

Q:  What are the age levels/divisions for players?

    A:  The following levels of divisional play are available:

    Division by Age U10 is 8-10, U12 is 10-12, and U15 is 12-15    **Age as of Jan 1

Q: When does the season start?

    A: Practices for the season may officially begin on November 14 with the first games beginning first week in January.  

Q:  When does the season end?

    A:  The season ends by March 1st.

Q: When is registration?

    A: Registration for the season begins online in September and ends November 7th.  Space is limited and all player must attend     Tryouts.  Click on the REGISTRAION TAB on the navigation bar at the top of the home page to register.

Q: Why is enrollment limited for each division?

    A: Maximum player enrollment counts are required due to the limited availability of local area gymnasiums. Once the maximum     number of players is reached for a division, a wait list is started.

Q:  Can a coach practice outdoors?

    A:  Yes, Due to the lack of available gymnasium time at local schools, coaches can hold practices outside. 90% of practices are     indoors at one of the 3 gyms.

Q:  How many practices per week and when/where?

    A:  After teams are drafted, each coach is allocated 2 indoor courts during the weekday (5pm-7pm) (6:30-8pm) & (8-9:30). 


Q:  Can my child play up a division?

    A:  Yes player will be allowed to play only one division, with BOD approval.

Q:  Can my child play down a division?

    A:  Unless there is a safety issue involved, no player will be allowed to play down a division.

Q: What is the included for the $130 registration fee?

    A: It is important to note that we are an ALL VOLUNTEER LEAGUE. Unlike some other local leagues, your money does     not go to pay league director salaries. YBA
 is a TRUE NON-PROFIT. Each player's registration fee is used to pay costs for gym     rental, uniforms, referees, insurance, trophies.  Additionally, there is no mandatory family fund-raising activity so this fee will be     the only amount required to be paid for each player.

Q: What are YBA
 boundaries?

    A: YBA
 serves all Nassau county.  Additionally, anyone who wishes to drive to our practice location is eligible to play in our     league. 

Q: How much of the game will my child play?

    A: YBA
  shall not impose upon coaches or teams a minimum playing time requirement for individual participants. It is at the coach’s     discretion as to how playing time is distributed among the individual team members.

Q: Why are there evaluations/tryouts?

    A: Player evaluations are essential to our goal of creating equally talented teams. To achieve this goal, the evaluations are     mandatory.

Q: Who coaches the teams?

    A: Coaches are volunteers. They are mostly parents. In some cases they may be an individual that is interested in coaching a     team, but does not have a child on the team.  Each coach is required to fill out an application and go through an Background     check.
