I want to play in college…Where do I begin?
Deciding which college to attend is a challenge in and of itself for a high school student. What to study, Where to study - do I want to go to a small, private school or a large university? Do I want to go far away from home or do I prefer to stay closer to home? Add the component of being a student athlete to the equation and you’ve got a lot of moving parts to sort through when making your decision.
Sporting Iowa Academy places a lot of emphasis on this particular step in the player pathway. We feel that our players have worked too hard to not make this a priority, and personally invest in this as crucial step for those who desire to play at the collegiate level.

Meet the Sporting Iowa College Advisors:
Don’t wait!
We want to our players to be prepared and their college decision to be smooth as stress free as possible! It’s not uncommon for players wait until their junior or senior year of high school to begin this process. At Sporting Iowa, we begin working with our players during their freshman year of high school. Being prepared to play at the collegiate level requires many things, among them a strong academic profile. By beginning this process early in high school, we not only work with the student athlete to understand the importance of good grades, we begin to set expectations for the next 3 years to develop a prepared and recruitable collegiate player.
