FAQs:
Q. What equipment does our player need?
A. A size 3 soccer ball is the only required equipment, but we also recommend that you have your player wear shin guards covered with tall socks and that you bring a water bottle to every game. Cleats are not a must, but your player should wear athletic shoes of some variety.
Q. Where do we pick up our player’s jersey?
A. All player jerseys will be passed out on the first day of league.
Q. What does my player need to wear besides their jersey?
A. We just want your player to be comfortable! Players should wear his/her team jersey to every game. The rest is up to you! We recommend letting them wear their favorite pair of athletic shorts and any color soccer socks.
Q. Where can we find/ how do we check the game schedule?
A. Game schedules are all posted on the HappyFeet website, www.nwahappyfeet.com. Click the League tab at the top of the home page to get started! Use the drop-down menus to choose your player’s Program, Division, Event, and Team for a season-long schedule. For your convenience, there is a Print Schedule option in the top right corner of the schedules page.
Q. What can you tell us about our player’s coach?
A. We believe whole-heartedly that our approach to teaching soccer is the best approach, so all of our coaches are trained and paid to teach soccer the HappyFeet way. Our coaches are all members of the NWA community with varying levels of soccer or sport experience. They’re all athletes that will run and jump and dribble and shoot with your player because we believe that their active involvement and knowledge is essential for your player’s success and overall experience in our program.
Q. Who will my child play against in their games?
A. All the players on your child's team, and on any other team your child's team will may be scheduled to play with, are born within one year of each other. A detailed birth date chart is available on the website for each age group.
Q. What is your weather/cancellation policy?
A. Several factors influence the decisions to cancel games due to inclement weather. These factors include but are not limited to: the heaviness of rain, the presence of lightning, the state of the game fields, the ability of families and coaches to arrive safely at the fields. Cancellations are made, at the latest, approximately an hour prior to the first game of the day and at the earliest, the night before game day. We try to give every opportunity for the weather to improve before we make the decision to cancel games. Cancellations are announced on our Facebook page and with an email, so be sure to follow us on social media and prioritize us in your email inbox!
Q. What is your makeup game policy?
A. If your child's team misses more than two games during any league, a makeup game schedule will be released. Depending on field and coach availability, makeup games may be scheduled on a different day of the week than the regularly scheduled games.
