History

Darlington American Little League started on 1952 with the purpose of fostering and guiding youth of our community in the wholesome recreation of Little League Baseball which will server to mold them in good character, splendid sportsmanship, and as useful, respected members of our community.

On February 9, 1956, with the efforts of David H. Morrissette, Thomas E. Burgess, Omer G. Mercier, James J. Cardosi and Joseph F. Blount; Darlington American Little League became one of the first, to incorporate within the State of Rhode Island.

Darlington American Little League is one of six Rhode Island teams to ever qualify for The Little League World Series. (Westerly (1950), Darlington American (1980), Cranston Western (1996), Lincoln (2001, ’04) and Cumberland American (2011, 2014).
